COVID-19 UPDATE *4/27/20*
ATTENTION ALL CUSTOMERS:
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as we all go through this uncharted territory we are currently in. Here at Ridge Crest, we have been chomping at the bit to get back to business and fire up our online auctions once again. Well, the time has finally come. We have had to make some changes to our policies and procedures, but with some guidance from the local health department and the Governor’s office, we have taken the steps needed to get moving again. Below you will find a brief overview of the changes we have made to move forward. More detailed information will be in the individual auction details and terms (See Current Auctions). Please pay close attention to this update and all information included in each auction so we can make these transitions smoothly and efficiently.
Currently, we are not accepting new consignments. This is temporary until we are able to make room and empty all of our storage areas of consignments that have been waiting to go to auction. Hopefully, this will be a temporary situation as we move forward. If you already have a consignment with us or you have already contacted us about items you wish to sell be advised we will be contacting you soon with updates and information on how to proceed.
Changes to Online Auction Previews:
Currently, we will not be offering scheduled items previews for online auctions. If there is more information you would like on certain auction items or if you would like to see specific items in person you have a couple of options. Contact us by phone or email with specific details you are seeking along with lot number and we will do our best to provide that information with more detailed descriptions or additional photos. If you need to see the item in person please contact us to make an appointment. We will pull the specific items so they are ready for you to inspect at that time. There will be no browsing or walk through inspections at this time. We are doing this to minimize the number of people in our facility. We understand this will make the inspection of items more difficult but we will do everything we can to accommodate all requests. Please note that everything will still be sold on an AS-IS basis with a NO REFUND policy. Having said that if there is anything that blatantly misses the mark of our description we will work with customers on a case by case basis.
After Auction Item Payment and Pick Up:
After the auction, all orders will be pulled and sorted immediately. Items will be brought curbside to your vehicle unless otherwise noted. This will remove the need for customers to come inside the facility for pick up. Payments will also be taken curbside. All payment forms will still be accepted. (Cash, in-state checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover). You may also call ahead and pay by credit card over the phone before you come to pick up your items. There is still a 3% fee for credit card use. We are currently working on online forms of payment and we will advise more about this option when we have more information.
Our shipping policy remains about the same. We will ship any items we can, however, items must fit in standard USPS priority mail packaging or standard mail envelopes and packaging. Shipping costs are calculated as follows:
- Actual shipping costs + $5.00 per package for small and medium boxes ($7.50 additional for large boxes)
We currently are working to provide UPS and FED EX shipping, but as of yet, we do not offer these options.
Firearms Payment, Pick Up & Shipping:
As before all ATF, Federal and Local laws will be strictly adhered to when buying and selling firearms. NICS background checks will be run on all firearms buyers without exception. This includes those with valid Michigan CPL cards do to the new ATF notice that Michigan CPLs are no longer considered valid for use in lieu of NICS background checks. There is a $20 transfer fee for all long guns and a $30 fee for all handguns. All purchase prices and fees must be paid before a background check will be run. Failure to pass a background check does not constitute a valid reason for a refund. For this reason, we ask anyone who thinks they may not be able to pass a background check to not place bids on firearms. Firearms shipments will only be sent to valid FFL holding dealers in the United States. It is the buyer’s responsibility to locate and provide dealer information for the shipment. Shipping cost for firearms is calculated as actual shipping cost + $10 for handguns and $20 for long guns. Local pick up of firearms will be done curbside at our facility at the front of the building. The buyer must be on our property to complete transfer but are not required to enter the building per a temporary variance by the ATF. Local pick up buyers must provide their own cases to transport firearms.
General Policy Changes:
No customers will be allowed to enter the building unless circumstances require it. In the event that circumstances do require a customer to enter the building, they are required by state mandate to wear a face mask and will be given very limited access to our facility. All social distancing guidelines will be adhered to and followed. Firearms buyers will be asked to remove masks outside of the building temporarily to verify identity if needed.
We understand these changes may be daunting, but we will strive to make the process as painless as possible. Please be patient with us as this is new to us as well and we will be making changes as needed to make the process better as we go. Thank you all for your understanding in this matter.
